As a disabled transgender man, I've developed a deep understanding of how words and phrasing can go a long way to making minority groups feel included. I can work with you and your business to make sure that everyone you work with is respected. I can:
❧ Edit existing documents to improve inclusivity - this can include things like sign-up & registration forms, contracts, promotional material like pamphlets and brochures, and webpage copy;
❧ Develop new documents with you that are built with diversity in mind - much like the above, this can cover a range of material including contracts, policies, and promotional material;
❧ Give feedback on layout and design elements of digital and physical media with regards to contrast & readability, accessibility for screen readers, and how to write succinct image descriptions for improving both accessibility and SEO;
❧ Provide consultancy on creating welcoming environments for minority groups.
I am happy to consult regarding all forms of minority and diversity, however, I would like to stress the importance of lived experience. My experiences as a disabled queer person are not the same as that of an immigrant, or a single mother, or someone who uses mobility aids. I will always do my best to ensure accessibility in all my work, but I acknowledge that I don't know the needs of every community and that ultimately any exercise in improving diversity will not magically target all marginalised groups.
